Material Weights vs. Lengths
The two calculations below are designed to assist wire buyers and/or engineers who want to understand how much material they need for a given order or application. The Calculations on the left will result in the weights needed to purchase for a given alloy, wire diameter, and number of feet. The calculations on theRight will result in the number of feet required to process for a given weight of material.
For example if you know you need 10,000 ft of 0.03125" diameter stainless steel wire, these calculations will tell you you need to order 26.3 lbs of material or 27 lbs minimum.
